![]() Elenda seems to have a lot of more interesting builds going for it if you make her your Commander. It's as basic as basic goes if you just want to see what the core of an Aristocrats deck looks like. I thought Elas-il Kor would be the best Aristocrats strategy, too, when I first read it, but yeah, it's all payoff, no engine or output to get there. Once it does, however, its critical mass is so hard to stop or be interacted with, and because it spreads its strength out, your opponents' attempts at removal will just quickly be replaced by something equally bad, if not worse. I will say this about the strategy: it has a terrible early-game and needs time to get things in place. Maybe that's its strength: not a single card is the cornerstone of the strategy, and it spreads its power out well. It certainly plays very explosively, but I can't really pinpoint a single factor that lets it explode. Initially, I built it as a combat-matters 1/1 token deck, but due to the nature of 1/1 tokens and the fact that it's Orhoz, it naturally gravitated towards Aristcrats until it became nearly a full Aristocrats shell. I've only taken a recent interest in Aristocrats because of the new ] card. When Elenda dies, create X 1/1 white Vampire creature tokens with lifelink, where X is Elendas power. Just as a reference, I play in Mid/High tier tables. Legendary Creature Vampire Knight Lifelink Whenever another creature dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Elenda, the Dusk Rose. I really like how that card plays, and I'm down to looking for more alternatives to it, but Elenda doesn't seem to fit that bill.Īm I wrong? Have you guys found more success in Elenda's use in your Aristocrats decks? Please let me know. If you do nothing else but play the game normally, it accumulates more value like a token investment. I've been running ] instead, and it's been really impactful: you play the card, and it's already making value. Besides, if you're even in a situation where you're making 20 tokens off of her, I feel like you already made enough tokens from other means that she isn't contributing much anyway or that you're already on the verge of winning. ![]() When Elenda dies, create X 1/1 white Vampire creature tokens with lifelink, where X is Elenda's power. Order your two triggered abilities so that Elenda's 'dies' trigger resolves first. Legendary Creature Vampire Knight Lifelink Whenever another creature dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Elenda, the Dusk Rose. Here's a brief rundown: Sacrifice Elenda to Ashnod's Altar to generate two colorless mana. I personally don't use it in my build because it seems a bit clunky for what it does: while it could potentially crap out dozens of tokens, it's a 4 mana card that, at its worst, makes only two bodies and usually requires a lot of setup/board presence that you already have prior to it hitting the field before it gets big enough to be impactful when you break the proverbial pinata. The best thing about this combo is that is doesn't need any mana to kick off. ![]() This card seems to be really popular in Aristocrats decklists, and I'm just curious about why. Lastly, ] is amazing in more aggressive Orzhov decks (Vampires surely qualify), and in two colors you have plenty of room for a handful of nifty colorless utility lands.Hey, there! I was hoping to get people's opinions on the use of ] in the 99 of Aristocrats decks. When Elenda dies, create X 1/1 white Vampire creature tokens with lifelink, where X is Elenda’s power. It’s admittedly not the flashiest iteration of our favorite vampiric planeswalker, but ] really shines in Vampire decks, if only because it allows you put any of your most expensive Vampires directly into play from your hand for and a Vampire token. Whenever another creature dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Elenda, the Dusk Rose. Elenda loves sacrificing creatures and +1/+1 counters! It’s not hard to imagine how quickly this would get out of hand with ] or ] already on the board. In addition to the other suggestions above, I think ] would prove useful for Elenda, representing a sac outlet (albeit not a free one) that also buffs all of your creatures.
