When the battle starts, Grom and the Trolls smash down the gates, while your goblins rush the undefended walls on the other side of the building. The enemy will stack all their troops on Grom's side of the City. The best tactic I've found for taking Paravon is to hide all of my goblin units in the forest on one side of the city, and put Grom, the Hag, the Trolls, and the Spikey Rollers on the other side. On harder difficulty levels, Karak Azgaraz is tier 3, so you can use it to construct tier three buildings.Īfter you've confederated Skarsnik, you can turn your attention to eliminating Paravon. Do it, and Skarsnik, his Araknorok Spider, and the settlement of Karak Azgaraz are all yours. When you win, you will be given the opportunity to confederate Crooked Moon. Your goal is to rout his army, not destroy it. (If you wait, he's sometimes gone.)Īttack Skarsnik and fight a battle with him, being careful not to destroy either Skarsnik or the Araknorok Spider. I've tested this dozens of times on every difficulty level, and he's always there at this point. Then, next turn, use the underway to move Grom right to the Karak Azgarad / Karak Norn border. You want to avoid fighting him in a siege if at all possible, so that you can capture both Skarsnik and his Araknorok Spider unit.īypass Paravon, and move Grom right to the edge of the mountains. If you wait too long to attack him, he will either get himself killed by the dwarves, and/or will go and sit in the Karak Azgarad fortress. In the first few turns, Skarsnik is raiding the dwarven lands of Karak Norn, and sits on the border of Karak Azgarad and Karak Norn. Greenskins can force confederation by winning a battle against their faction leader using your own faction leader. Your next goal is to confederate Skarsnik. With some care and luck, you can take out their army, then take Quenelles the same turn, without too many casualties. Use Grom and your trolls to smash through the enemy, and your pump wagons to flank and take out their archers. The enemy will turn to face you, leaving them down in the valley while you take advantage of the higher position on the hills. I found that the very first battle is most easily won by wheeling your army around to the right, moving up onto the higher ground. Taking their field army out is your first task.
